Media Platforms Design Team
Can you believe it's been 25 years since the holiday movie classic Home Alone was released in theaters? We can't either! It was the number one movie of 1990 in terms of box office sales—and it remains the highest grossing live-action comedy of all time in the U.S. To celebrate the anniversary, here's a look at what the film's stars are up to now. Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals!

NOW: Macaulay Culkin
Culkin went on to star in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, of course, as well as hits like My Girl, but after 1994's Richie Rich the child actor took a break. He eventually returned to acting in 2003, starring in indie movies like Party Monster and Saved, and making guest appearances on sitcoms such as Will & Grace. Most recently, Culkin debuted his New York-based, pizza-themed comedy rock band called The Pizza Underground.

Actress Catherine O'Hara starred as Kevin's slightly forgetful mother, Kate McCallister. We think it's safe to say that no one has ever screamed the name "KEVIN!" as well as Catherine.

NOW: Catherine O'Hara
After Home Alone and Home Alone 2, O'Hara stayed busy, continuing to appear in family-friendly films including Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, as well as cult comedy classics like Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show. She has also lent to her talents as a voice artist to Tim Burton films including Nightmare Before Christmas and Frankenweenie. She most recently appeared on the TV show Schitt's Creek, and in 2015, Canada Post placed her image on a postage stamp in reverence to the Canadian star's successful career.

Goethals' perky blonde hair and smug grin helped her secure the part of Linnie, Kevin's snobby older sister.

NOW: Angela Goethals
Goethals was one of the few cast members who chose not to return for Home Alone 2. After taking a role in the movie Jerry Maguire, she took a break from acting to get a degree at Vassar College. She later resumed her acting career, making several guest appearances on TV shows, including a recurring role as Maya Driscoll on 24. She last appeared on an episode of Royal Pains in 2010.

Before the Wet Bandits showed up, older brother Buzz McCallister, played by Devin Ratray, was the biggest bully in Kevin's life.

NOW: Devin Ratray
No word on whether or not Buzz's girlfriend is still woof-worthy, but Ratray remains a working actor, starring on TV shows like Law & Order: SVU and The Good Wife. When he is not performing, Ratray also writes and produces, specializing in spin-offs and comedy films. In 2008, a documentary crew followed him as he attempted to woo former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice in the film Courting Condi.

NOW: Joe Pesci
Although Pesci's limelight lasted into the 1990s, with starring roles in films like Casino and 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag, he remained under the radar in the 2000s. However, it seems the actor and Maroon 5's Adam Levine have recently become friends through their shared love of golf—and it's rumored that they've recorded a few soon-to-be-released songs together.

THEN: Daniel Stern
One of the most memorable moments of the film is when Stern's character Marv Merchants lets out a high pitched scream when Kevin places Buzz's pet tarantula on his face. Fun fact: Stern actually didn't scream during filming, because he was worried it would scare the spider into biting him. Instead, he mimed the scream and it was added in post-production.

NOW: Daniel Stern
Among other film and television roles, Stern voiced the title character on the animated TV series Dilbert. Outside of acting and directing, Stern works as a sculptor and philanthropist. He and his wife Laure Mattos started a Boys and Girls Club in Malibu, and his philanthropic endeavors have been recognized and awarded by President Obama.

Instead of being filmed on sound stages in Los Angeles, Home Alone was actually filmed in a real house located on the outskirts of Chicago.

NOW: The Home Alone House
Although the real Home Alone house does not come with the foolproof security system Kevin McCallister created in the movie, the grand estate still has its suburban Chicago charm. According to Zillow.com, one lucky family bought the house for a hefty $1.5 million in 2012.
